Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sc: single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
Fphdc: front post half double crochet
Bphdc: back post half double crochet

Gauge & Sizing
Please remember that tension can differ for each person and can affect your overall gauge. If your gauge is not correct, then your sizes will not be correct. As long as you do have the correct gauge, your sizes will be correct. Also, just as personal gauge can affect the width of a stitch, it can also affect the length of a stitch, which affects the overall length of a hat. Hat length is somewhat of a personal preference, so use your judgment regarding what you like. If you need to add length, work more rounds. If you need to remove length, work fewer rounds.
Gauge: approximately 3.5 sts/inch. PLEASE ADJUST HOOK SIZE TO OBTAIN THE CORRECT GAUGE.
NOTES:
- The amount of slouch in the hat is easily adjustable to preference. If you’d like the hat more or less slouchy, work fewer or more rounds where indicated in the pattern.
- The crown section of this hat is worked seamlessly. Place a marker after round 1 and move it up as you work. The pattern will indicate when you will begin to join at the end of rounds.

Slouchy Hat Crochet Pattern
Ch 2.
Round 1: 8sc in 2nd chain. Pull tail to close hole in the center of the ring. Place marker. (8 sts)
Round 2: *2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (16 sts)
Round 3: *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Round 4: *Sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (32 sts)
Round 5: *Sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (40 sts)
Round 6: *Sc in next 4 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (48 sts)
Round 7: *Sc in next 5 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (56 sts)
Round 8: *Sc in next 6 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (64 sts)
Round 9: *Sc in next 7 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch at the end of this round. (72 sts)
Round 10: Ch 1. Sc in same st, sc in next 7 sts, 2sc in next st, *sc in next 8 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (80 sts)
You will be beginning the body of the hat now, with the eyelet lace stitch.
Round 11: Ch 3 (counts as a hdc and chain 1). Sk next st, *hdc in next st, ch 1, sk next st; repeat from * around. Join to 2nd chain of beginning chain 3.
Round 12: Ch 1. Sc in same st, hdc in next chain space, *sc in next st, hdc in next chain space; repeat from * around. Join to first st
Round 13-26: Repeat rounds 11 & 12.
NOTE: This is where you can adjust the amount of slouch, or length, in the hat. If you’d like it less, or more, slouchy work fewer or more rounds.
Round 27: Ch 1. Sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog, *sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog; repeat from * around. Join. (70 sts)
Edging:
Round 28-29: Ch 1. Fphdc around same st, bphdc around next st, *fphdc around next st, bphdc around next st; repeat from * around. Join.
Fasten off.
