Ears {make 2}
With cream yarn, chain 9.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd chain from hook, dc in next chain, tr in next 2 chains, dc in next chain, hdc in next chain, sc in last 2 chains.
Chain 2 and slip stitch to last sc worked (this forms the little pointy edge of the ear with a picot stitch).
Now, you will continue to work around the piece by working into the unworked loops of the foundation chain. By doing this, you will form the other half of the ear.
Row 2 (on the other side): sc in first 2 chains, hdc in next chain, dc in next chain, tr in next 2 chains, dc in next chain, hdc in next chain, sc in the last chain. Slip stitch to beginning stitch and fasten off, leaving a tail to sew ears to hat.
Assembly
Using the tails left on the ears, and a tapestry/yarn needle, sew the ears to the sides of the hat. I like to begin at the bottom of the ear, and use a basic tacking stitch to secure the ear down the center. Then, you will want to secure the front half of the ear to the hat in the same way. The back half of the ear can stay unsecured so that it can be positioned properly.
