Notes
1. This headband is worked flat and then seamed together when finished. I prefer the mattress stitch for seaming it but, of course, you can use whichever method you prefer.
2. Since this headband is worked lengthwise, the sizing is very adjustable to a specific size or person.
3. To make the smaller sizes of the headband narrower, if you prefer, you can use size US 9 or US 10 knitting needles instead. This will produce a tighter fabric and smaller stitch, making the headband narrower.
You can also get an ad-free PRINTABLE PDF version of this pattern that includes 5 sizes from baby to large adult!

Row 2: K4, P9, K4.
Row 3: K2, P2, C6F, K3, P2, K2. Row 4: K4, P9, K4.

Row 6: K4, P9, K4.
Row 7: K2, P2, K3, C6B, P2, K2. Row 8: K4, P9, K4.
Repeat rows 1-8 until headband measures 20-21 inches, or desired length. Cast off in pattern, leaving a long tail to seam together.
Using the yarn tail and tapestry needle, seam the two short ends together with the method of your choice. I prefer the mattress stitch.
