Easy Slouchy Hat Knitting Pattern

US 13 Circular Needles

Scissors
Abbreviations
CO: cast on
St: stitch
K: Knit
P: Purl
K2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one (decrease)
KFB: knit into the front and back of the indicated stitch (increase)
Notes
The length of this hat is adjustable to preference. If you’d like it in a slouchier style, add more rounds before decreasing. In the pictures above, the gray hat is made a bit slouchier by adding extra length before decreasing.

Gauge
Approximately 2.5 sts/inch in stockinette stitch

Easy Slouchy Hat Knitting Pattern
Cast on 48 sts.
Being careful not to twist the stitches, join into a round for round 1.
Round 1: *K1, P1; repeat from * around.
Round 2: *P1, K1; repeat from * around.
Round 3-7: Repeat rounds 1 & 2.
Round 8: Knit each st around.
Repeat round 8 until the piece measures approximately 8 inches from the beginning edge (or desired length).
Decreases/Crown
Round 1: *K2, k2tog; repeat from * around. (36 sts)
Round 2: *K1, k2tog; repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Round 3: *K2tog; repeat from * around. (12 sts)
Round 4: *K2tog; repeat from * around. (6 sts)
Cut yarn and string through the remaining stitches. Weave in ends.
