This cute newsboy hat crochet pattern is incredibly easy to make! You can use a double strand of worsted weight yarn or a single strand of bulky weight yarn, and either way, it’s a nice, quick project. Use cotton for spring and summertime, and a warmer fiber for fall and winter. The style is totally unisex, too, so make one for the whole family.

Visor {all sizes}
Notes:
- The sc sts in the even-numbered rows will be worked “1 row deep.” To do this, work the sc through the st 1 row below, and over the reverse slip sts just made. This makes an extra sturdy stitch for the visor.
- You can choose to stop the visor rows whenever you are satisfied with the length. For the smaller sizes of the hat, you may want to work fewer rows and stop after row 4. However, this is purely a preference and you should use your own taste to decide.
Row 1: Ch 1. Reverse slip stitch in each st across, moving to the right, until you are approximately halfway around the hat, or for however wide you’d like your visor to be. (You should now have reverse slip stitches along what will be the front bottom edge of the hat).
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, and in next 3 sts, 2sc in next st, sc in each st until last 5 sts, 2sc in next st, sc in last 4 sts.
Row 3: Ch 1. Reverse slip st in each st back to the right side.
Row 4: Ch 1. Skip 1st st, sc in each st until you reach the middle of visor sts,
2sc in next st, sc in each st until 2nd last st, leaving last st unworked.
Row 5: Ch 1. Reverse slip st in each st back to the right side.
Row 6: Ch 1. Skip 1st st, sc in each st across, leaving last st unworked. Do not fasten off.
Final round: 2sc in corner st of the brim, sc evenly down the side of the brim, sc in each st around the bottom of the hat, sc evenly up the other side of brim, 2sc in corner st of the brim. Slip st to join to1st or 2nd st on the front of the brim.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Brenda says
Just wondering the amount/ yardage of yarn needed for the 2T-4T newsboy hat. Would you please share that with me. I made my friends daughter a boho poncho and the hat would go perfectly with it.
Thank you!
