Knit Baby Bonnet Pattern
Using long tail cast on, cast on 34 sts.
Row 1: Purl across.
Row 2: Knit across.
Repeat rows 1 & 2 until piece measures 5.5 inches. Cast off.
Fold the piece in half lengthwise, so that it is shaped more like a square.
Using the matching yarn and a tapestry needle, sew the back seam of the hat. You can use a basic whip stitch, or a mattress stitch (if you prefer).
Cut 4 pieces of yarn approximately 24 inches long, and 4 pieces of ribbon approximately 24 inches long. (For the larger sizes, you may want to make the ties longer.)
Take 2 pieces of the yarn and 2 pieces of the ribbon, match up ends so that they’re even, and fold in half. Insert the folded end of the group through one of the front bottom corners of the pixie hat about an inch or two. Pull the loose ends of the yarn and ribbon through the folded end (which will resemble a loop), and pull tight.
Repeat for other front bottom corner of pixie hat.
