Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sl: slip
Hdc: half double crochet
2dc: work 2 double crochet stitches in the next stitch (increase) Fpdc: front post double crochet
Bpdc: back post double crochet
Fptr: front post treble crochet
6Cable: cable over 6 stitches (see directions)

Special Stitches

front post treble crochet in the 4th, 5th, and 6th dc from hook, reach in front of the stitches just made, front post treble crochet in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd skipped dc.

Gauge
Approximately 2.75-3 stitches per inch in double crochet. Please check your gauge.

Notes
- The chain 1 stitches at the beginning of rows do NOT count as a stitch.
- I like to use a size I crochet hook for the smaller sizes and a size J crochet hook for the larger sizes.
Cable Headband Crochet Pattern
Chain 15.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd chain and in each chain across. (14 sts)
Row 2: Chain 1, turn. Fpdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, 6cable, hdc in next 2 sts, fpdc in next 2 sts.
Row 3: Chain 1, turn. Bpdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, bpdc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, bpdc in next 2 sts.
Row 4: Chain 1, turn. Fpdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, fpdc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, fpdc in next 2 sts.
Row 5: Chain 1, turn. Bpdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, bpdc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, bpdc in next 2 sts.
Repeat rows 2-5 until piece measures 14-16” for the baby size, 16-18” for toddler size, 18-20” for child size, and 20-22″ for adult size, ending with a row 2.
Fasten off.
Stitch the two short ends together. Weave in ends.
