Beautiful Lace Hat Free Knitting Pattern
Cast on 51 stitches, using long tail cast on, onto a very short circular or double point needles. Being careful not to twist the cast on stitches, begin the first round by joining.
Round 1: Knit each stitch around.
Round 2: Knit first st, *yo, k3, slip 1, k2tog, psso the k2tog (the last 3 steps was the ddec), k3, yo, k1; repeat from * around.
Round 3: Knit each stitch around.
Round 4: Knit first 2 sts, *yo, k2, ddec, k2, yo, k3; repeat from * around, ending with a k2.
Round 5: Knit each stitch around.
Round 6: Knit first 3 sts, *yo, k1, ddec, k1, yo, k5; repeat from * around, ending with a k3.
Round 7: Knit each stitch around.
Round 8: Knit first 4 sts, *yo, ddec, yo, k7; repeat from * around, ending with a k4.
Repeat these 8 rounds until the hat measures approximately 4-4.5 inches, ending with a plain knit round. On the last round, decrease one stitch. (I do this by working a k2tog on the last 2 stitches.)
