Baby blankets are one of my favorite things to crochet, especially when they’re as elegant as this one! This baby blanket free crochet pattern features a chunky yarn and pretty shell stitch. It’s perfect for any new baby, baby shower gifts, or to sell in your Etsy shop.
Baby Blanket Free Crochet Pattern
Supplies
Bulky Weight Yarn (#5) – approximately 220 yards

Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sl: slip
Sk: skip
Beg: beginning
Sc: single crochet
Dc: double crochet

Size
As written, approximately 20 inches by 20 inches.
To adjust the size of this blanket, if you’d like it to be larger, simply work a longer beginning chain to start. You will the chain to be a number that is a multiple of 3 plus 1 extra.
Gauge
2.5 stitches/inch in double crochet

Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern
Chain 52.
Row 1: (Sc, hdc, dc) in 4th chain from hook, *sk 2 chs, (sc, hdc, dc) in next ch; repeat from * across. Hdc in the last chain. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: *(Sc, hdc, dc) in next dc; repeat from * across. Hdc in the top of beg ch 2. Chain 2, turn.
Repeat row 2 until piece measures 20 inches or desired length.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
