Caron Cakes Crochet Hat Pattern
Baby
With size K crochet hook, chain 2.
Round 1: 12 dc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1. 2fpdc in each st around. Join. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1. Fpdc in same st, 2 fpdc in next st, *fpdc in next st, 2fpdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (36 sts)
Round 4: Ch 1. Fpdc in same st, fpdc in next 2 sts, 2fpdc in next st, *fpdc in next 3 sts, 2fpdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (45 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1. Fpdc in each st around. Join. (45 sts)
Repeat round 5 until hat measures 5-6 inches.
NOTE: This is where you can adjust the “slouchiness” of the hat. If you’d like it less or more slouchy, work fewer or more rounds.
Change to size H hook.
Next round: Fpdc in each st around. Join. Repeat last round for about 1 inch.
Fasten off.
Toddler
With size K crochet hook, chain 2.
Round 1: 12 dc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1. 2fpdc in each st around. Join. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1. Fpdc in same st, 2 fpdc in next st, *fpdc in next st, 2fpdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (36 sts)
Round 4: Ch 1. Fpdc in same st, fpdc in next st, 2fpdc in next st, *fpdc in next 2 sts, 2fpdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (48 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1. Fpdc in same st, fpdc in next 14 sts, 2fpdc in next st, *fpdc in next 15 sts, 2fpdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (51)
Round 6: Ch 1. Fpdc in each st around. Join. (51 sts)
Repeat round 6 until hat measures 6-7 inches.

Change to size H hook.
