Edging
With light green yarn:
- Attach yarn to one end, with the outside facing you, and ready to work single crochet stitches around the tip.
- Work a single crochet in each stitch around the end of the pod, stopping where the two long open sides meet.
- Continue to work single crochet stitches down the length of the pod, toward the middle, through both layers of the opening, stitching them together to close it. Stop when you reach the approximate center of the opening. Fasten off.
- Attach the yarn at the opposite end of the pod, and repeat steps 1 and 2. On this end, you will stop stitching the opening together when you reach the point when you have an opening of your desired size. It should be large enough to fit a newborn through, and close enough to the top for the baby’s face to show. Do not fasten off.
- Continue working single crochet stitches, through one layer only, along the remaining opening sides. Work around the other side of the opening, and join to your stopping point from step 4. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Please remember, as with all novelty items and babies/children, to never leave a baby or young child unsupervised with items like this. :-)

This is so cute. I have zero skills with crochet however but I have a few friends that do so I will be sure to send this on to them. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.

What a precious little pea in a pod! lol! I really need to try crocheting again. Thanks for sharing the pattern with Share Your Cup. I’m sure it’s not intentional, but I’m not seeing a link back to the party.

Jann
