Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sc: single crochet
Dc: double crochet
2sc: work 2 single crochet stitches in the indicated stitch (increase)

Gauge
Approximately 3-3.5 stitches per inch in single crochet.

Notes
- Chain 3 at beginning of each round does count as a stitch. When joining at end of rounds, join to top of chain 3.
- You will always be working 2 double crochet groups into each corner chain 2 space, and one double crochet group in the other chain 2 spaces.
- This is meant for supervised play/use only. Do not leave a baby or young child alone with this lovey.
Mouse Lovey Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern
Square Blanket Section
Chain 3. Join into a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3. 2dc, ch 2, *3dc, ch 2; repeat from * 2 more times. Join. (You should have four 3dc groups.)
Round 2: Sl st in next 2 sts and in ch 2 space, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in same ch 2 space, *(3dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space; repeat from * around. Join.
Round 3: Sl st in next 2 sts and in ch 2 space, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in same ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space, *(3dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space; repeat from * around. Join.
Round 4: Sl st in next 2 sts and in ch 2 space, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in same ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 2 ch 2 spaces, *(3dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 2 ch 2 spaces; repeat from * around. Join.

Round 10: Sl st in next 2 sts and in ch 2 space, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in same ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 8 ch 2 spaces, *(3dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 8 ch 2 spaces; repeat from * around. Join.
Round 11: Sl st in next 2 sts and in ch 2 space, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in same ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 9 ch 2 spaces, *(3dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 9 ch 2 spaces; repeat from * around. Join.
Round 12: Sl st in next 2 sts and in ch 2 space, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in same ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 10 ch 2 spaces, *(3dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 2) in next ch 2 space, (3dc, ch 2) in next 10 ch 2 spaces; repeat from * around. Join.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Mouse Head
NOTE: The head is worked seamlessly. Place a marker after round 1 and move it up as you work each round.
Ch 2.
Round 1: 2sc in 2nd chain from hook. Place marker. (4 sts)
Round 2: *2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (8 sts)
Round 3: *Sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (10 sts)
Round 4: *Sc in next 4 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (12 sts)
Round 5: *Sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (16 sts)
Round 6: *Sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (20 sts)
Round 7: *Sc in next 4 sts, 2sc in next st; repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Round 8-14: *Sc in next st; repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Round 15: *Sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; repeat from * around. (18 sts)
NOTE: This is where I chose to stuff the head with a little bit of Fiberfill.
Round 16: *Sc in next st, sc2tog; repeat from * around. (12 sts)
Round 17: *Sc2tog; repeat from * around. (6 sts)
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Mouse Arms (make 2)
NOTE: The arms are worked seamlessly. Place a marker after round 1 and move it up as you work each round.
Chain 2.
Round 1: 4sc in 2nd chain from hook. Place marker. (8 sts)
Round 2: Sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in next st. (5 sts)
Round 3-9: *Sc in next st; repeat from * around. (5 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn to secure to the lovey.
Mouse Ears (make 2)
Chain 2.
Round 1: 8sc in 2nd chain from hook. Join. (8 sts)
Round 2: 2sc in same st, *2sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (16 sts)
Round 3: Sc in same st, sc in next st, sc2tog, *sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; repeat from * around. Join. (12 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn to secure ears to head.
Assembly
Using a thread and needle, secure black beads to head in the place of a nose and the eyes.
Next, use a matching thread to secure ears to head.
Again, use a matching thread to secure the head to the center of the blanket portion.
Using matching thread, secure the two arms to the blanket and head, where they meet at the blanket center.
It’s ready to snuggle!
