Faux Cable Double Layer Cowl – Caron Cakes
Chain 60.
Being careful not to twist the chain, join into a ring.
Round 1: Ch 2. Dc in each ch around. (60 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1. Dc in same st, fpdc around next st, *dc in next st, fpdc around next st; repeat from * around. Join.
Round 3: Ch 1. Fpdc around same st, dc in next st, *fpdc around next st, dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join.
Repeat rounds 2 and 3 until you have a few yards of the yarn cake left. The cowl shown was approximately 23-24 inches tall.
Bring the top edge and bottom edge together, matching the first stitch on the bottom edge to the last stitch on the top edge.
Working through both layers, slip stitch to join the two edges.
Continue around the piece, working through a stitch from the top edge and a stitch from the bottom edge.
When you reach the beginning stitch, join and fasten off. The height of the cowl is now approximately 11-12 inches because it was folded in half.
Weave in ends.
