Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sl: slip
Beg: beginning
Hdc: half double crochet
2hdc: work two half double crochet stitches in the next stitch
Sc: single crochet
Sc2tog: single crochet two together (decrease)
BLO: back loop only

Approximately 2 sts/inch in half double crochet and size K crochet hook. Please check your gauge to ensure an accurate finished size.
Notes
- This hat is worked seamlessly until the band at the end of the pattern. Place a marker after round 1, and move it up as you work. Begin joining rounds when the pattern indicates.
- 2. You can adjust the amount of “slouch” that this hat has just by working more rounds after all of the increasing is finished. If you’d like to have less or more slouchiness, work fewer or more rounds.

Slouchy Hat Free Crochet Pattern
Adult
With K hook, ch 2.
Round 1: 10hdc in 2ndchain from hook. Place marker. (10 sts)
Round 2: *2hdc in next st; repeat from * around. (20 sts)
Round 3: *hdc in next st, 2hdc in next st; repeat from * around. (30 sts)
Round 4: *hdc in next 2 sts, 2hdc in next st; repeat from * around. (40 sts)
Round 5: *hdc in next 3 sts, 2hdc in next st; repeat from * around. (50 sts)
Round 6: *hdc in next 4 sts, 2hdc in next st; repeat from * around. (60 sts)
Round 7: *hdc in next st; repeat from * around. (60 sts)
Change to J hook.
Round 8-16: *hdc in next st; repeat from * around. At the end of round 16, join with a slip stitch. (60 sts)
NOTE: This is where you can adjust the length/slouch of this hat. If you’d like it to have less or more slouch, then work fewer or more rounds.
Change to I hook.
Round 17: Ch 1. Sc in same st, sc2tog, *sc in next st, sc2tog; repeat from * around. Join. (40 sts)
Work in BLO (back loop only) through the end of the pattern.
Round 18-20: Ch 1. Sc in same st, *sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (40 sts)
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

The hat shown was made as written in the pattern. If yours looks a little smaller, it could be your gauge so be sure to check that. Otherwise, you can add as many rounds as you like to make it as slouchy as you like. :)
