This elegant seed stitch headband knitting pattern is a perfect knitting project for beginners, or a quick fun project for experienced knitters, too!
Seed Stitch Headband Knitting Pattern
Supplies
Cascade 128 — 1 skein
Size US 10 16” circular needle
Tapestry needle
Abbreviations
CO: cast on
St: stitch
K: knit
P: Purl
Sizes
Toddler (fits 17-19”)
Child (fits 19-21”)
Adult (fits 21-23”)
Gauge
Approximately 3 sts/inch in seed st on US 10 needles
Headband Knitting Pattern
Toddler
Cast on 50. Being careful not to twist the stitches, join to work in the round.
Round 1: *K1, P1; repeat from * around.
Round 2: *P1, K1; repeat from * around.
Repeat rounds 1 & 2 until the headband is approximately 3 inches tall, or the desired height.
Cast off in pattern. Weave in ends.
Knot
Cast on 5 sts.
Row 1: *K1, P1; repeat from * across.
Repeat row 1 until the piece measures approximately 1.5-2 inches.
Wrap the piece around any spot on the headband, and sew the two ends together.
Weave in ends.

Cast on 56. Being careful not to twist the stitches, join to work in the round.
Round 1: *K1, P1; repeat from * around.
Round 2: *P1, K1; repeat from * around.

Cast off in pattern. Weave in ends.
Knot
Cast on 5 sts.
Row 1: *K1, P1; repeat from * across.
Repeat row 1 until the piece measures approximately 2-2.5 inches.
