Abbreviations
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sl: slip
Beg: beginning
Dc: double crochet
Sc: single crochet
2dc: double crochet 2 stitches in the same stitch (increase)
Notes
- Chain stitches at the beginning of rounds do not count as a stitch. When joining the rounds, join to first stitch.
- The length, or amount of slouch that the hat has, can be easily adjusted to preference. If you’d like it shorter or longer/slouchier, then work fewer or more rounds where indicated.

Chunky Slouchy Hat Crochet Pattern
Adult
Ch 2.
Round 1: 12dc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 3. 2dc in same st, *2dc in next st; repeat from * across. Join. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch 3. Dc in same st, 2dc in next st, *dc in next st, 2dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (36 sts)
Round 4: Ch 3. Dc in same st, dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, *dc in next 3 sts, 2dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (45 sts)
Round 5-8: Ch 3. Dc in same st, *dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (45 sts)
Note: this is where you can adjust how slouchy the hat is. If you’d like it extra slouchy, work more rounds. Keep in mind that there will be more rounds added for the band of the hat.
Round 9: Ch 1. Sc in same st, *sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (45 sts)
Round 10: Ch 1. Sc in same st, sc2tog, *sc in next st, sc2tog; repeat from * around. Join. (30 sts)
Round 11-12: Ch 1. Sc in same st, *sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (30 sts)
Fasten off.
