Abbreviations

Ch: chain
St: stitch
Sl: slip
Sp: space
Cl: cluster stitch (see below)

Special Stitches

Cluster Stitch (Cl): *Yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops; repeat from * two more times, then yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

Size

Child (6” x 22”)

Gauge

Approximately 1 cluster stitch per inch.

Elegant Button Cowl

Chain 21.

Row 1: Cl st in 3rd chain from hook, *skip 2 chs, *cl st in next ch; rep from * across.

Row 2: Ch 2, turn. *Cl st in next cl st; repeat from * across.

Repeat row 2 until the cowl measures 22 inches.

Fasten off and attach two buttons along one edge of a long end of the cowl.
