I remember when I was first learning to crochet, and I would come across a stitch that I either couldn’t recall how to do or had never done before. Back then (16 years ago), it wasn’t quite as easy to get online and pull up a quick, easy stitch guide. There were no iPhones, or iPads, or any handy websites to help a girl out. :-) Not like today! I hope that this stitch guide proves to be helpful for you when you’re stuck with that one stitch!
Single Crochet (sc): *Insert hook in stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook; repeat from *.
Single Crochet Decrease (sc2tog): Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
Single Crochet Double Decrease (sc3tog): [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over, pull loop through stitch] 3 times (4 loops on hook). Yarn over and draw yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
Double crochet (dc): *Yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops, yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops; repeat from *.
Double Crochet Decrease (dc2tog): [Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops] 2 times, yarn over, draw through all loops on hook.
Half Double Crochet (hdc): Yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through all loops on hook; repeat from *.

This may not be every single crochet stitch ever invented or discovered, but it sure should help. :-) You can also find this chart/info in my “tips & techniques.”. If you like this, please share it!
