Note
The chain 2 at the beginning of each round does not count as a stitch. When joining at end of rounds, join to first stitch.

Newborn to 3 Months
Hat–K hook, Green Yarn
Ch 3. Join into a ring.
Round 1: Ch 2. 12 dc in ring. Join. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 2. 2dc in same space, *2dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch 2. Dc in same st, dc in next st, 2dc in next st, *dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (32 sts)
Round 4-7: Ch 2. Dc in same st, dc in each st around. Join. (32 sts)
Fasten off.
Follow the directions for the eyes at the end of the pattern.
3 to 6 Months
Hat–K hook, Green Yarn
Ch 3. Join into a ring.
Round 1: Ch 2. 12 dc in ring. Join. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 2. 2dc in same space, *2dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch 2. Dc in same st, 2dc in next st, *dc in next st, 2dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (36 sts)

Eyes
Size H hook, Black Yarn
Ch 2. Join into a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1. 10sc in the ring. Join. (10 sts)
Change to White Yarn.
Round 2: Ch 1. 2hdc in same st, *2hdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (20 sts)
Change to Green Yarn, K hook.
Round 3: Ch 1. Hdc in same st, *hdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (20 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew eyes to the hat.
Using green yarn, securely attach the eye to the top of the hat.
Weave in ends.
